Slacking

I been slacking off posting.Been busy with life.
So this is what
is going on.My garden has the most beautiful huge plants and yellow flowers, but not a squash on them.Same with the zucchini.I did find some pretty little caterpillars on them,so that would explain it.Thankfully a neighbor 5 miles up from us is selling some beautiful Squash ,I bought some from her,all organic, which I really like. It's all cut up and in the freezer. Now I have to clean the corn I got from her today, and a huge bag of hot peppers.
I just love this time of year.I can buy fresh from the farms and put it up for the later season when I can't get it fresh.
Dear hubby finally finished my work table in my studio,so I will be busy rearranging ,sorting and putting up all my craft supplies.
Can't wait to get in there and start creating again.
But for now the dirty floors are calling my name, and corn need to be cleaned and ready for the freezer. It will be a great day.

Pretty Flowers

Yesterday dear hubby and I went to my least favorite ,but only option store.I did get lucky though. They had a lot of plants at %50 off.Usually I don't buy plants that we can't eat off,but I could not pass up the pretty colors and my deck is looking a little sad ,so I bough a few.
Also got some more tomato, pepper and cucumber plants. They went in the ground first thing this morning.Like 6 am this morning, since the temps are in the 80s at 9 am already.
The flowers will wait till tomorrow morning.
I wonder if anyone actually reads this blog, but whatever,i enjoy writing things down.

Thank you to the small Farms

Yesterday we went on our by monthly shopping trip to the city.On the way there we dropped the girls off for their monthly bath and grooming. So we drove the less traveled back roads, and it was so pretty.
There were beautiful green fields of corn, next to just tilled field with rich dark soil. The trees were all so green, from all that rain, nothing brown or dried up .I need to start taking my camera on these rare trips. We drove by a pasture with horses and they had some Foal out there. They are just to funny on their long stick legs.I watched them trying to keep up with mom,and it is amazing how animals are so much like humans.Mom was slowly walking looking back waiting for her baby to catch up.Then there was a smaller field full of goats ,now those are funny creatures. As we drove along I seen a farmer out there with some huge equipment, one with a small tractor, and one pushing a wheel barrow with something I am sure was going to the compost pile. When I was growing up in the city I always wanted to live on a farm. Now that I am older I realize ,that it is hard work,i would never have made it .So let me just say thank you to all the small farmers out here. It's hard work, but I think it has to be rewarding also.

Strange Lite in the sky

I woke up this morning to the usual concert from the birds,But when I opened my eyes I noticed something else,a strange, bright lite I had not seen in days.....could it be?.........was it real????..yes SUNSHINE,glorious sunshine.I jumped, well kinda rolled out of bed and after doing the usual morning routine, pulled on my pinkies,(the grounds are still soaked) and went outside.Oh it was so good to feel that sunshine on my face.I know by this afternoon I will moan about the heat, but for now I will enjoy it and so will the blueberries I hope.I have a lot of weeding to do today,a by product of all the rain, so I best get started. But first one more quiet cup of coffee.

Fat Birds

As I walked the girls this morning on our daily walk to the compost bin,i thought I check on my blueberries.Well I'm not very happy.since I only have 2 bushes ,I like to get as much as I can off them. But the birds beat me to one of them,It is bare.I mean picked clean. The other still is loaded but they are not ready yet.No wonder they have been singing so pretty and loud, after eating my sweet berries.Oh well, blueberry festival is in 2 weeks,so I will get myself some berries then.
